# How does it work

> Learn how HandlPay turns your social media username into a payment handle. Senders just type your handle; funds route to your wallet automatically and privately.

When you sign in to HandlPay with a supported platform, your username on that platform becomes a payment handle automatically.

<Note>
  HandlPay currently supports one social profile per account. Support for linking multiple social profiles to a single account is coming in a future update.
</Note>

## How payments reach you

When a sender enters your username and platform, HandlPay resolves your handle to the wallet address you have connected. The payment is routed there automatically. You never need to share your wallet address with anyone.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Sender enters your handle">
    The sender visits app.handlpay.com, selects your platform (e.g., Instagram), and types your username.
  </Step>

  <Step title="HandlPay resolves the address">
    HandlPay looks up the wallet address linked to your handle and prepares the transaction routing and conversion if needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Payment is delivered">
    Funds arrive in your connected wallet. No back-and-forth, no personal details shared.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What HandlPay can and cannot access

HandlPay uses your social account for authentication only. It reads your basic profile information (such as username and profile picture) to verify your identity.

<Warning>
  HandlPay cannot post on your behalf, send messages to your contacts, or access any private content on your social media account. Your credentials are never stored by HandlPay.
